What is Tiny Tech Zines?

Tiny Tech Zines (TTZ) is a Los Angeles zine fair focused on technology. Silicon Valley has long been the dominant force behind technological innovation in the U.S., perpetuating technologies that often fail to serve marginalized communities in meaningful ways. We believe that Los Angeles can fill a critical gap in the tech conversation by making space to share knowledge and highlighting the ways that our diverse communities engage with technology. And so, TTZ is an accessible space to use zines, art, and workshops to collectively reveal and counter the weaknesses we see in tech.

TTZ is founded by Rachel Simanjuntak and co-organized with Tristan Espinoza and Tyler Yin. TTZ is inspired by the original New York Tech Zine Fair.

How can I help?

If you have the means, donations are always greatly appreciated!

Accessibility notes

TTZ is free to attend and open to the public. Our venue, NAVEL, is wheelchair-accessible via their Hope Street entrance. All ages are welcome, but please be aware that a couple of zines talk about technologies surrounding sex and may not be suitable for children. Restrooms are gender-neutral. A quiet room will be provided for rest from social interaction. Small to average-sized wheelchairs will be able to access restrooms.

Let us know how we can make TTZ accessible for you by emailing us@tinytechzines.org.

Parking

Visit NAVEL's parking survival guide to plan your parking ahead of time.

We strongly encourage you to park in the closest public lot found at 1631 S Hope St. (entrance is at the very dead end of Hope - it is a Unified Public Parking Lot). The lot is underneath the freeway and is cash only. Typically this lot is only $5-$7 per car, but depending on the demand for parking and if there is a big event happening at Staples Center or the Convention Center, they will occasionally raise the prices (unfortunately we can't control this). If there is no attendant on site, they ask that you leave cash in the metal box. The gates are never closed, so there is no threat of your car being locked in.
